Sebastiano Stufano

He attended the Tax Police Academy from 1987 to 1991. He graduated in Law at “La Sapienza” University in Rome with full marks. After, he graduated cum laude in Sciences of economic-financial security at the “Tor Vergata” University in Rome. He attended the holden school, earning the Master degree in Writing and the Master degree in storytelling.

From 1991 to 1996, he was on duty, as Tax Police official, at the headquarters previously in Turin and then in Milan. In particular, in Milan (from 1993 to 1996) he was in charge of the legal and operational coordination of different judicial and tax inquiries in the famous criminal proceedings called “Mani Pulite”. He was in charge of the relationship with television medias and with the press. His remit was also educating in technical-juridical subjects Tax Police and Tax Administration staff.

Keen interested in tax law, ha published more than an hundred articles and interpretation comments and he is the author of some monographs (such as, La tutela del contribuente nelle indagini tributarie, ed. Ipsoa, and the Commentario IVA, as coauthor, ed. Ipsoa).

He teaches in some specialized tax and finance law masters and educational courses.

He attended the II Educational Cours of High Education for the Criminal Lawyer that lasts two years and it was organized by the Unione Camere Penali with “La Sapienza” University of Rome.

From 1997, he practiced as a lawyer at F. De Luca Law Firm and in 2000 he became one of the partners of that Law Firm. In June 2010, he founded Stufano Gigantino and Associates Tax and Law Firm.

He practice tax and finance law, criminal business law and M&A. He successfully solved complex tax litigation giving legal aid to international and national bank groups and corporate groups. He successfully defended the multinational corporation Daihatsu Corp. in the third resort proceedings before the Corte di Cassazione that ended with the verdict n. 1465/2009. In this verdict, the Court affirmed that there is not a situation of right abuse and tax avoidance during the developing of a joint venture plan. During the past years, he gave legal aid in a lot of extraordinary corporate transactions and M&A. He gave legal aid to some legendary families of Gardaland s.p.a.’s shareholders during the complex and famous dealing successfully ended in April 2005. He participated, as legal advisor, in corporate shake-ups and in the creation of hedge founds.

He is advisor and lawyer of some important bank and industrial groups.
